Is it possible to talk about Economics and Social Theater? Can Social and Community Theater be an artistic intervention that multiplies the economic capital it has available? And can some concepts of Economic Sociology contribute to innovating the methodology of Social and Community Theater? The book, also through the narration of the project for the elderly Lo Splendore delle età – promoted by the CRUT of Turin in collaboration with the Odin Teatret of Eugenio Barba – explains how through theater it is possible to rebuild a lost social fabric and create new network actions, building economically independent and lasting community projects. Social and Community Theater has as its fundamental objective the cultural and artistic development, good health and social empowerment of individuals, groups and communities. In the book this theatrical model is re-read for the first time starting from some concepts of Economic Sociology among which social capital, the value of bonding, small world networks and social bridges.
