SCT Centre for the school
Workshops, theatre activities and engaging performances for schools.
For over 20 years, SCT Centre has been using the Social Community Theatre methodology to develop educational interventions based on solid scientific and intersectoral research, specifically designed for students, teachers and the school community.

SCT Centre’s training initiatives for students and teachers focus on the following areas:
- Mathematics education (STEM, challenges of school inclusion, gender inequality)
- Promoting well-being (youth well-being, well-being of education professionals),
- Civic education (inclusion, active citizenship, hate speech, environmental sustainability, gender discrimination)
- Transferable skills for employment

SCT Centre’s initiatives for schools are the result of a joint effort with entities such as the Compagnia di San Paolo School Foundation, the Departments of Economics and Statistics and Mathematics of the University of Turin, the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Polytechnic of Turin, the University of Catania, the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples, the MIUR and, outside of Italy, the University of Bergen and the Polytechnic of Crete, which have contributed to making possible the innovation and enrichment of the educational experience.
These interventions are designed for children, adolescents (primary and secondary school), and education professionals (teachers, educators, social workers, etc.), offering active, creative, and playful learning experiences that promote the development of life skills and specific competencies for the educational profession.
Through these interventions, theatre is employed to foster learning in formal and informal educational contexts, engaging adults and students across all age groups.
By engaging the body, expressive languages, and the symbolic, creative, and playful aspects of theatre, these practices produce psychosocial impacts, both individually and collectively, in multiple areas: the enhancement of mnemonic and cognitive skills, the development of life skills, the development of social value and social capital, the psychophysical reactivation and mind-body integration, the inclusion and acceptance of diversity, ethical reflection and the enhancement of critical learning, the promotion of resilience and stress management.
SCT Centre’s methodology, which has been tested and evaluated over the years in innovative projects of national and international importance, is now a unique heritage and training tool capable of addressing the challenges outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development regarding social inclusion and community well-being, and the more recent challenges posed by the pandemic.
