Theatre is a practice aiming at involving people and creating new horizons of sociality and meaning: it goes from projects in the neighborhoods of the outskirts of Turin to courses in nursing homes, from workshops with women to those with children. Individual stories and experiences become shared heritage and dialogue with the city. Rites are born that involve the inhabitants to create new communities or to strengthen the sense of being plural communities.
New worlds are discovered – and sometimes very close. Places and territories are investigated, establishing a dialogue with those who live there. Languages and backgrounds intertwine. New creative groups are born to step on stage and tell their story.
Theatre is a collective art, a community ritual – as shown by local projects in large urban contexts, such as Le cartoline di giorno e di notte and La festa dei cori, and by those carried out in small towns – such as A cielo aperto in Mondovì and Spazio giovani in Dogliani.
Also in international projects – such as Echos Postale del tempo, Swixx.multi.cool.ti, Caravan Artists on the road, Caravan Next and Terract – theatre dialogues with tradition and innovation, from the internal areas to the large European cities, from schools to squares. For over twenty years, the SCT Centre project has aimed at creating beauty and community.
