What We Do
We are a leading cultural centre that develops performing arts projects with a transformative impact on individuals and communities.
Through the methodology of Social Community Theatre, we develop projects, create shows, workshops, and events that promote cultural participation, urban regeneration, social inclusion, education, and health.
We specialize in design, research and evaluation, scientific consulting, training, and capacity building.
Community
We promote inclusion, dialogue, and active participation.
From projects in the suburbs of Turin to programs in nursing homes, from workshops with women to those with children: we create spaces for meeting and dialogue where individual stories are transformed into shared experiences, strengthening the sense of community and generating new connections between people and places. Through workshops, shows, and creative projects, we promote active participation, inclusion, and social transformation.
Rights
We transform communities into participatory agoras
We use theatre to promote active citizenship and individual empowerment. For twenty years, we have been carrying out projects that transform communities into participatory “agoras”. The goal is to make citizens protagonists of social change. Theatre becomes a tool for inclusion and the promotion of one’s rights. We move from passive spectators to aware actors in the life of the community.
Health
Theatre as a practice of care and promotion of well-being
We use theatre to promote health and well-being, bringing it to hospitals, nursing homes, and places of everyday life. Theatre becomes a tool of care for patients, carers, and caregivers, even in complex situations. By collaborating with healthcare professionals, SCT Centre creates innovative practices to foster relationships and well-being for all.
Education
The innovation of teaching through Social and Community Theatre
We promote training in Social and Community Theatre with a multidisciplinary approach. The fight against educational poverty and the innovation of teaching through theatre are fundamental axes of our work with the school world.
Environment
We promote attention to environmental issues
We believe in the importance of environmental protection and use Social and Community Theatre to promote the goals of the 2030 Agenda. With projects such as “The Gardens of Aurora” and “Green Ethics”, we raise public awareness on issues such as water, climate, and biodiversity. Through theatre, we involve people and motivate them to act for a sustainable future.
