From March 12th to 14th, Spazio BAC hosts the second edition of La Matematica è per Tutt!
La Matematica è per Tutt! (Mathematics is for Everyone!) returns as a protagonist in Turin: from March 12th to 14th, Spazio BAC hosts a rich program of events dedicated to schools, teachers, and the educational community. This is the second edition of the festival that, through theater, transforms learning into an engaging experience, breaking down barriers and stereotypes.
The festival, funded by CRT, was created in response to the urgent need to combat school dropout, especially in complex socio-economic contexts, with a specific focus on the peripheral districts of Turin.
La matematica è per tutt! promotes the use of Social and Community Theater as an educational and innovative tool capable of breaking down learning barriers.
The program opens on March 12th with Math Scare Boom, an interactive show for primary schools that tackles the fear of numbers with irony and fun.
On March 13th, the focus shifts to the world of education with an afternoon full of reflections. It begins with a repeat performance of Contaci! Mathematics and Women, a show that won the Miur 2021 Call for Proposals, which highlights the gender gap in STEM subjects. Following this, Professor Maria Laura Di Tommaso, Full Professor of Political Economy at the University of Turin, will lead the meeting La didattica della matematica per bambini e bambine. Il genere conta? (Teaching Mathematics to Children. Does Gender Matter?), an opportunity to delve into the most effective teaching strategies to promote equality.
On March 14th, Contaci! returns to the stage for lower secondary schools, offering a further opportunity for reflection.
