CREATIVA 2024-2025 is the 8th edition of our Basic Course in Social Community Theatre. An experiential training course aimed at developing specific skills in cultural and artistic work with groups, focusing on audience engagement, cultural participation and health promotion.
The course offers practical training in the methodology of Social and Community Theatre (SCT) to acquire skills, techniques and artistic languages aimed at developing professional profiles of cultural and hybrid operators, who promote cultural participation through intersectoral and multi-stakeholder interventions aimed at creating cultural, educational and social experiences of empowerment and integration for the well-being of communities and individuals.
The course, active as part of the SCT Centre’s training program since 2005, is expanding this year to the entire Piedmont region, thanks to a contribution from the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation (Guidelines for training and starting a career in the cultural profession – Mission: Develop Skills).
The course’s outcome is the development of a professional profile with specific skills aimed at promoting the professionalism of cultural operators, including hybrid ones, capable of developing cultural actions both independently and within their organizational contexts, and of co-designing them with subjects in the cultural sector.
The course offers a comprehensive training in the field of Social and Community Theatre, combining different teaching methodologies and practical activities. The course is based on an experiential approach, with workshops, lectures, meetings with experts and artists, training in action through internships and participation in cultural events.
The course, created by SCT Centre with a contribution from the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation and in collaboration with the Vedogiovane Asti Cooperative, the Caracol Cooperative, and DoRS – Regional Documentation Center for Health Promotion, is part of the National School of Social and Community Theatre, which involves a collaboration between SCT Centre, the Mario Apollonio Center for Culture and Theatrical Initiative of the Catholic University of Milan, and the University of Pavia.
