Art and Community: European models of audience engagement and social inclusion
How can art create social innovation? How can access to quality creative and cultural activities be guaranteed for all citizens?
Audience engagement and social inclusion, cultural welfare and community-based arts. The international conference Art and Community presents significant best practices of research and intervention in Europe, with a specific focus on those developed according to the methodology of Social and Community Theatre and carried out by the partners of the European project Caravan Next (Creative Europe 2015-2019).
Two days of reflections, testimonies and performances on the role of art and, in particular, theatre, in the construction of open and plural communities.
Numerous international guests will be present.
THE 10 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES OF THE CARAVAN NEXT PROJECT
The conference is one of the 10 international conferences planned by the European project of Social and Community Theatre Caravan Next, co-financed by the Creative Europe Program. The conferences aim to disseminate methodologies, tools and knowledge of Social and Community Theatre based on the experiences gained within the 30 Caravan Next events.

OCTOBER: Conference in Yerevan, Armenia, organized by Atalaya/TNT, Conference in Turin, Italy, organized by UNITO/SCT Center, Conference in TaoYuan City, Taiwan, organized by Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium – Odin Teatret, Conference in Sydney, Australia, organized by Teatr Brama.

WORKSHOPS
October 8, 9, 10, 11, 2018
As part of the conference, the Danish company Forsøgsstationen conducts 4 days of workshops at the StudiumLab of Palazzo Nuovo (Ground floor) which will lead to the realization of a short performance on Thursday 11 at 8.00 pm at the Teatro Vittoria (Via Gramsci 4, Turin).
The workshop is open to artists, social workers and citizens of all ages. It has a limited number of participants and provides translation from English. No theatrical or musical skills are required. Participation in the workshop is free and registration is mandatory.
