An interactive show, in the form of a large Game of the Goose, that stimulates critical thinking and invites the audience, through monologues, quizzes and narrated scenes, to reflect on gender equality and LGBTQIA+ discrimination.

OnStage+ is a Social Community Theatre Centre (SCT Centre) – Teatro Popolare Europeo production, and stems from the OnStage+ project. It’s an artistic and educational project, presented as an interactive performance using Social and Community Theater methodology, focusing on gender equality, a range of positive masculine role models, and combating LGBTQIA+ discrimination.

The performance, developed from research, interviews, and workshops with residents and students, actively engages the audience through performative languages and various techniques designed to ignite reflection on discrimination based on sexual orientation.

OnStage+ aims to cultivate critical thinking among participants regarding the key civic issues of our era. The project fosters self-awareness, mutual respect, and personal and collective wellbeing by engaging the audience in an interactive performance modeled after the Game of the Goose. The stage features 25 squares, 2 performers, and 3 musicians who encourage the audience – split into two teams – to roll the dice and move across the oversized squares. Each square triggers specific content: historical facts, quizzes, scenes from daily life, monologues derived from true stories, and special squares.

Each square provides some “sale in zucca” (points for “common sense”) a score that allows – at the end of the show – to assess which team has increased its knowledge and expertise the most on a complex issue of contemporary society that is often a source of civil debate.
