The training through the Social and Community Theatre methodology of the SCT Centre of transversal skills, such as communication, cooperation, the management of the unexpected, storytelling, and effective self-presentation, have been the subject of various capacity building and team building training courses – including L’inatteso in scena (2013), Respiriamo a pieni polmoni (2013), and Acting New (2014) activated within specific training projects of UniManagement and for the Unicredit group, including the Impact project.
The project was designed for the UniManagement team and the participants in the Unicredit training projects.
The training sessions, tailored to specific needs, were conducted by an expert team from the SCT Centre in close collaboration with the UNM team, under the supervision of Catterina Seia. They were implemented by combining the specificities of SCT’s capacity building and team building with the objectives of a transversal and multisectoral training specific to Unicredit’s international corporate context.
In an intensive workshop setting with varying lengths (from 5 hours to two days), participants were stimulated through two types of theatre-specific activities: awareness, relationship, and communication training, and the creation of scenes and stories.
In the training phase, a series of practices (games, exercises, body training) specific to actors’ training and revisited by SCT were used—in a precise sequence defined by the SCT method—aimed at increasing individual and group skills, such as the quality of presence and effectiveness in relationships, the ability to analyze, evaluate, and act in a context while in action, creativity, problem-solving and cooperation, verbal and non-verbal communication, reliability, responsible and proactive participation.
In the creation phase, work on setting up situations with characters, the construction of stories, the metaphorical use of situations from the epic and mythical world, along with the use of real situations from the participants’ experience, were used to explore role and context dynamics, to enhance choice and action skills. Particular attention was paid by SCT to the dimension of relationship and art, with a view to a pedagogy of man that deeply combines with professional training and organizational well-being.
The project promoters were Unicredit Corporate Learning and UniManagement.
