The project

Prime Minister is an initiative born in 2019, publicly announced with a press conference at the Italian Parliament, from the meeting between the associations Movimenta and Farm Cultural Park; the various editions over the years have been supported by various organizations. It is an out-of-school education project to empower young women aged between 14 and 19, developing their leadership skills and helping them look to their future by overcoming gender stereotypes.

In these years of activity, a locally organized and replicable training program has been built and tested, structured in about ten meetings (on Saturdays, full day or afternoon only), to accompany groups of up to 30 students from the same geographical area.

Participating students are offered, free of charge, a training path related to the themes posed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to the role of civic activism and politics, understood in a non-partisan key. Along this path, female students develop self-awareness and awareness of their potential, strengthen transversal knowledge and skills, develop their role in the communities to which they belong. In parallel, the school helps them create a wider community, in particular of peers and mentors, ready to support them.

Students are actively involved through five integrated modalities:

  • empowerment workshops, focused on creating awareness of their abilities, leadership and confidence in individual and collective action;
  • meeting and dialogue with role models from the institutional, cultural, entrepreneurial, political, scientific world;
  • public talks: meetings with testimonials, open to the public to involve students’ families, teachers, stakeholders in the project;
  • institutional visits, to bring students closer to Italian and European institutions, deepen their knowledge and experience their mission;
  • realization of active citizenship actions: offered both through meetings dedicated to developing specific skills, and through dedicated mentors..
